Our Story
Welcome to our family-owned transport service, proudly based in Challacombe, right on the edge of the stunning Exmoor National Park!
Webbers Travel of Exmoor was founded in June 1999 by father and son, Ron and Matt Webber. At first, some members of our rural community were skeptical about our venture, viewing it as a crazy endeavour. However, just weeks after obtaining our first taxi license from North Devon Council, we landed a school transport contract in the Lynton area from Devon County Council. This was the start of our journey!
Since 2005, we have proudly served as a transport provider for HF Holidays, a renowned walking and special interest holiday company. They lease Holnicote House located in Selworthy from the National Trust, using it as their picturesque 'Exmoor Country House.' Our collaboration supports a wealth of enriching holiday experiences, including Exmoor Discovery Tours, Landscape Painting, Gardens Tours of North Devon & Somerset, and an array of wildlife holidays on Exmoor.
We are dedicated to enhancing these memorable adventures for all our passengers and pride ourselves in providing clean, reliable vehicles and exceptional, friendly service throughout North Devon and West Somerset.
Our commitment to quality helped us build a strong reputation in the community, and we are grateful to serve our valued customers.
Over the years, our passenger numbers have continued to grow, leading to requests for additional vehicles. It wasn't long before the idea of a minibus was suggested, and we embraced the opportunity. Since then, we have expanded and enhanced our vehicles, ultimately achieving what we have today: a fleet of 16-seater mini coaches ready to serve our community.
Today, the Webber team—Ron, Matt, and Sally—works closely with our dedicated freelance drivers and school escorts: Robert, Emma, Ann, Trish, and Rebecca. Together, we are committed to providing exceptional service and support for our community.
